Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
Compete in Lincoln Scholastic Bowl

The Illinois Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, in partnership with the Illinois Alliance Boys & Girls Clubs and the University of Illinois-Springfield, recently sponsored the Lincoln Scholastic Bowl. State-wide participation of the Boys & Girls Clubs brought regional finalists to Springfield for the tournament on Saturday, March 29 at the Old State Capitol. Boys & Girls Club regional competitions were held to determine the finalists who moved on to the finals in Springfield. Boys & Girls Club participants read Lincoln related books. Each regional Boys & Girls Club assisted participants in studying, reviewing and discussing the books in preparation for the bowl. Four  teams moved on to the finals. Bowl participants were treated to a tour of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, breakfast at the Governor's Mansion prior to the finals on Saturday and awards presented by Mr. Lincoln.
